This  month I wanted to discuss how to repair a chip with a large piece of glass missing from the impact point.

The best way I have found to perform a repair when there is a large piece of glass missing from the impact point that is larger than the injector O-Ring and you are questionable about getting a good seal try using Pit filler and covering the pit/impact point with a liberal amount of pit filler and place a cure tab over the impact point. The pit filler is too tick to perpetrate into the chip or break and cause a problem with the repair. Let the pit filler cure and leave the cure tab on then drill into the break in the impact point through the cure tab and tap with your bull’s-eye maker or just inject as you would on any chip or break. Then place your injector right on the cure tab over the drill hole and inject resin as you would  normally.
