This month I want to cover how to up sell Long Crack Repair.

In our shops in Colorado almost half of our windshield repair business is repairing cracks over 12 inches in length and we are not a preferred shop so we can up sell Long Crack Repairs. If you are a prefered shop this will not work for you because the contract prevents you from charging more for a Long Crack Repair. However you may always ask the customer for a nice tip because you are performing a Long Crack Repair.

The insurance companies do not recognize crack repair over 6 inches at this time however here is a way to get the extra money and profit from doing Long Crack Repairs. When a customer’s pulls up with a long crack we tell them their insurance company pays for preventive chip repair but not Long Crack Repair but here is what we can do for you. We can bill your insurance company for the chip repair and for example your insurance company pays us $60.00 for the chip repair and then we are adding another say $40.00 for the fact that we are repairing your 18 inch crack. When you call the network make sure you tell them you are getting the crack repaired not a replacement windshield and you have a shop that can do the repair with a lifetime warrantee because they will automatically write the claim up for a replacement. I prefer to have the customer call in the repair while I am with them to prevent any misunderstandings because the network representatives are so use to saying the repair is totally free at the end of the claim that it can throw the customer off, even though you have explained the process very well in the beginning. We do explain our repairs are lifetime warranted so if the Long Crack Repair does fail we will refund the cost of the repair so you will be out nothing is it does not work and we hold 99% of the Long Crack Repairs we do because of our patented technology.

This may be a repeat for the people who have come to Colorado for Hands on training, however I thought it may be useful to go over it again for the people who want to increase the profit with our Long Crack Repair Technology or add Long Crack Repair to their existing chip repair business. The cost to do a Long Crack Repair with our system is around $1.00 so even if you do not want to up sell the customer you still may want to add more Long Crack Repair to your business.
